Whoa...tomorrow is 2008?

Belated Merry Christmas to you all!! I hope you each enjoyed a great holiday season and have a fun evening planned to ring in the New Year!

I've been running around with Christmas bustle and taking pictures, trying to learn the feel of my new Canon. She's been affectionately named "The Beast." I love her, we're beginning to listen to each other and understand that we can work together to capture some of life's most beautiful moments. Today (well I am crossing my fingers that the FedEx man can do for me what Brown did and deliver within 2 days of ordering...) we will be joined by a new friend, I have ordered a lens to help "The Beast" and I attain even better images. Merry Christmas Amelia....

The girls racked up. We have toys strewn across the living room, playroom, and both bedrooms. They got some pretty high tech stuff this year. It's funny to see Masyn and Evelyn Bi-Podding with earbobs as they listen to Masyn's new Backyardigan's CD on her new Hello Kitty CD player. Avery hasn't stopped begging to add new music to her little MP3 Player. I know for sure that I live in a fast paced, technologically driven era...Evelyn just came in and cried "get on Interneck." Geez.

Tonight we will play games and countdown, I am excited, but it means one day closer to the big 2-6. Not entirely sure I like that, but hey, what's a girl to do aside from buying expensive age defying cream?!

I Know It's A Camera...Work With Me Here

Now the very happy owner of a Canon 40D, I am shooting pictures of everything.

Last night the only thing I had available for pictures was my iron. I was just playing around with my new toy. I'm sharing with you all my very first picture with my new baby!

Today I've been trying to snap shots of the girls and Adonis. Wow, this will be much harder than I thought....the whole "learning a new camera" thing. I'm going to have to practice a great deal and I welcome any tips you guys have to offer!

An Early Gift

Grandparents are the best!....wouldn't you all agree?

Adonis' parents have kindly gifted us with 3 tickets to see The Nutcracker ballet tonight.

Avery is beyond excited. She has a new dress from her grandma and I am even going to buy her pantyhose (later in life she will learn to hate them, but for now she likes the idea), and of course I will fix her hair all special.

We are leaving soon, so I better run now. I would say that I will have photos to share later, but I know that is a lie. I don't have a camera right now.......more about that later.

Evy or Alicia??

A couple of days ago I was busy in my bathroom putting on make-up and getting ready for the day.

Evelyn loves to come and keep me company (a.k.a. rummaging through my cabinets and hair products...) when I am primping.

I heard her making a sort of moaning or whiny sound and I asked her "Evy what are you doing? Are you okay?"

Evelyn's response was "I'm singing."

After learning that she wasn't crying I went back to work on my face, but paid closer attention to her song.

Turns out she was saying "nooo oooone, nooo ooone....feeling..."

In case you aren't familiar with the R&B/Pop genre of music, "No One" is a huge hit song by Alicia Keys. I really like it and tend to turn the radio up a notch or three when it comes on. Evelyn likes it too, apparently. :o)

9, 3, and 1....

I haven't shared pictures of my girls in a while, as many of you sweethearts have reminded me on several occasions. ;o)

Here is Avery, she is 9 now. I sigh deeply every single time I say that..."she is 9..." It hardly seems possible for her to be this old.

Wow.

Masyn, my growing and super precocious little girl is 3, but she will be 4 in February.

Each day she brings humor and light to my life. The things that come from her mouth make us daily think she should have her own reality T.V. show.

Lastly, but never to be considered least....

My Evelyn Blair.

The fireball that she has turned out to be is shocking. Once thought to be the "quiet one" of the crew, she has shirked that reputation and now lets everyone know she is her own person. I adore her spunk.

Check out her hair, it so matches her personality.

*sigh*

I searched around and tried to switch, but in the end, blogger was the freebie for me.

Today I have decided to sell my lovely camera and try to upgrade. The cost is shocking so I'm not sure it's possible. However, if you are interested in a Canon Rebel XT with a kit lens and a 50mm lens, please email me and let me know!
